AYANA Resort Bali Review: Is it Worth the Money?
Ayana Resort Bali is 5 star luxury for anyone looking to relax and indulge!
What is AYANA?
AYANA is a resort chain local to Indonesia. We first stayed at AYANA in Labuan Bajo and loved it so much we are planning our wedding there next year!
AYANA Resort Bali is enormous! It is the largest resort in Bali and covers a staggering 90 hectares of land. It is so big that there is a regular tram to take you between all of its pools, spas, hotels, beaches, bars and restaurants. The site was originally the Ritz-Carlton before it was bought out by AYANA in 2009.
Within the grounds of AYANA there are 4 hotels, 14 pools and beaches and 30 restaurants and bars. It is unlike any hotel I have ever stayed at and really feels like a destination in and of itself.

Where is AYANA Resort Bali Located?
AYANA Resort is located in the south of Bali, about 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport. It is close to some of Bali’s most famous and beautiful beaches such as Jimbaran, Padang Padang and Uluwatu.
Accommodation Options at AYANA
Within the 90 hectare resort at AYANA there are four different accommodation options. All guests can use the facilities across all four hotels, apart from the villa pool which is only open to other AYANA guests early in the morning.
There is no bad choice but here is a little bit of information about each type so you can choose which is best for you!
RIMBA by AYANA Bali
This is the part of the resort that I stayed in and it was beautiful. It is set back further within the AYANA resort complex so you don’t get the same ocean views that you get from AYANA resort and the villas. The upside is that it is quiet and serene and the rooms are luxurious!

AYANA Resort
A little confusing at first, there is a hotel called AYANA Resort located within the larger AYANA resort complex. This is the closest to the world famous Rock Bar, and is built to give the best views for rooms and facilities.
Luxurious Villa Stay at AYANA
The villas at AYANA are the ultimate luxury stay. All situated on the hillside so they have sweeping views of the cliffs and ocean. They come with private pools and butler service so you never have to leave!
Segara – Rooms and Residences
Segara rooms and residences provide more traditional Balinese touches. The rooms feature traditional floral wood-carved touches and there is direct access to some of the best pools within the entire AYANA resort.

Facilities at AYANA Bali
AYANA Resort is huge and it is hard to believe how many recreational facilities exist within its grounds.
There are 14 pools ranging from family-friendly with slides to adults only pools where you can enjoy a cocktail.
My personal favourite was the Ocean Beach Pool, an infinity pool that hugs the cliff overlookin the water. Sipping a mango daiquiri in this pool while the sun set was one of my favourite experiences at AYANA.

Inside AYANA Resort’s Famous Rock Bar
Rock Bar is arguably one of Bali’s most famous bars. I had seen pictures of this place popping up on my Instagram for years, before I had even heard of AYANA. It has been written about by every travel publication from Luxury Traveller to Conde Nast and it is easy to see why. It really is the ultimate way to enjoy the Bali sunset!
Although the drink prices were higher than expected, we enjoyed Rock Bar so much that we ended up there most evenings we were at AYANA. It can get very busy so I recommend booking a table through the AYANA app, especially if you are there in peak season or during busy times like sunset.

Is AYANA Resort Family Friendly?
Providing different experiences for different types of travellers is something that AYANA excels at. AYANA is absolutely family friendly and has the fantastic facilities for kids.
There are lots of activities at AYANA that families can enjoy together such as visiting the AYANA farm, having a traditional Balinese photoshoot or spending time at the family friendly pools.
For parents that would like a break from the kids, there are amazing daily kids club activities and supervised play areas. To stay a step above the rest, AYANA also hosts daily and multi-day kids camps where kids can spend their days immersed in nature learning about sustainability, survival skills and climbing coconut trees! For younger children, there are Montessori-aligned activities where 3-6 year olds can explore nature and local culture in age-appropriate and fun ways.

Weddings and Honeymoons at AYANA Bali
AYANA Resort is known to be one of the most luxurious stays in Bali. It is therefore no surprise that it is chosen by many as the perfect place to host a destination wedding.
As with everything in AYANA, you are absolutely spoilt for choice if you want to plan your wedding here. There are 12 different indoor or outdoor venues that can host weddings of all sizes. We were lucky enough to attend a wedding in the Tresna Chapel, a stunning glass fronted chapel that overlooks the cliffside and beach. It was absolutely breathtaking!

The Final Verdict: Should You Book AYANA Resort Bali?
I had the most amazing time during my stay at AYANA Resort Bali and would 100% recommend it!
While a stay at AYANA Bali is not cheap, if you have the money, it is well worth a splurge!
